Dear community,

We send our sincere condolences to the community who are mourning the loss of president Chavez and continue to be fervent in prayer for the leadership of this beautiful country. In compliance with federal authorities we will suspend classes and activities until Monday. Please be in prayer for our delta team. We will keep the community informed of any news from the team. They are in a very calm part of the country and are in good hands with their leaders. We anticipate contact from them on Thursday when they make their way to Tucupita and will inform you of any news at that time. We would like to ask our entire community to pray for their safe journey home.

Many blessings,

Good Morning parents,

In an effort to better serve you, we would like to remind you about the morning drop off routines. Students should arrive between 6:55 and 7:15 am. Soon La Concordia will start their activities and the gate will close at 7:15am. Please start planning on been here before that time. If you are aiming to arrive at 7:30 you will be late often, please aim to arrive as close to 7:00am as possible.

This year we will continue offering the food service with Mauro only to High school students (Canteen in La Concordia).

We would appreciate if you please not ask our teachers or staff to help you out with your child’s lunch or child care for your child at the end of the day. If you have an emergency situation where you cannot provide lunch or pick up your child on time please contact our office as soon as you know it is a problem and we will help work out arrangements.

We are making our best effort to plan ahead for Elections days. We are currently awaiting to receive a formal communication from the minister of education in this regard. In order to be in compliance with the Normative from the Minister of Education and the CNE (Consejo Nacional Electoral) regarding the safety of children, we will not be allowed to have students on the campus once the National Guard occupies the campus for voting. For this reason we will have Home school days during any days in which armed guards are on campus. Please pay particular attention to any instructions you receive from teachers as they prepare for possible home-school days. Please understand that we cannot make any changes to our scheduled breaks as the majority of our teachers have scheduled visa-renewal trips for months in advance. Thank you so much for your understanding and participation in this process.

Por favor, comprenda que no podemos realizar ningún cambio en nuestras vacaciones programadas ya que la mayoría de nuestros profesores tienen programado con meses de antelación viajar para renovar sus visas. Muchas gracias por su comprensión y participación en este proceso.

Dear parents,

Rainy day mornings can wreak havoc on the local morning commute and we understand. Please be advised of our rainy day morning routine at school.

When students arrive after 7:30 they will need to:

Report to the office to get a tardy slip.

The tardy may be excused or unexcused depending on the circumstances.

On rainy days with traffic delays we will excuse late arrivals until 7:45. Remember the target is to arrive as close to 7:00am as possible. After 7:45 we may excuse tardies on a case by case basis.

The reason students must check in at the office is that our student data management system allows teachers to take attendannce at the start of the day. Any students they mark as “missing” will be updated at check-in by the school’s administrative assistant. This allows the teachers to begin their classes with minimal interruptions from students who are tardy. Reporting to the office for check-in does not mean that a student is in trouble, they simply need to check-in to school since they have missed the appointed time in their class.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
